About Me

I am Patricia Yvette Donaldson-Hunter, a dedicated Mental Health Counselor with a diverse background in education and counseling. I earned my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Florida A&M University and a graduate degree in Counseling Education. I am licensed in Mental Health Counseling through Jacksonville University and Webster University.

With nearly 10 years of experience in the field, I've had the opportunity to excel in various roles. I started my professional journey as an elementary teacher for 11 years before transitioning to a school counselor for 6 years. My passion for mental health led me to establish Trish’s Counseling Care, LLC, in Jacksonville, Florida.

My commitment to mental health and community impact drives my involvement in the field. I've served as a Mental Health Counselor in the Clay County School District and was honored to receive recognition as an Unsung Hero from Step by Step 4 Help Foundation. As a certified Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor, I aim to equip others with the knowledge to support young people in need. I also serve on the CCSD Crisis team and am passionate about youth development, serving on the board of "Leveling the Playing Field," an organization focused on mentoring single moms and their athlete sons.

I've put together a wonderful collection of five children's books that aim to spark important conversations about emotions with young readers. I also love to inspire others as a motivational speaker and serve as a Grief Coach and Speaker for The MIA Foundation (Mission In Agape). On top of that, I run a fun blog called "Get Some 'Hunny' with Your Tea," where I share helpful insights about mental health. It's been such a joy to appear on local news segments, speak at various events, and be featured in several magazines!
